being the survivor of nomadic hippie parents, i traveled extensively throughout the U.S. during the seventies. a migratory childhood exposed me to a wider world, made me a gatherer of bits and pieces, and taught me the beauty of making something from nothing. in this way, creating a home wherever i happen to be at the moment has always been my primary means of self-expression. not surprisingly, the momentum carried forward. after 42 residences in 31 years, i landed on the west coast and currently split my time between a painting studio in berkeley and a new life in the pacific northwest. i like to think my work now illustrates an inclination towards the layering of life’s tiny yet significant details, always en route from one place to the next.
